Jewellery Skills Workshop

Learn to work with precious metals and acquire the skills needed to create beautiful jewellery


€125 (incl. €50 deposit)

Learn the techniques needed to make silver jewellery in this fun and informative workshop. Make a solid silver ring and decorate it with your own choice of textures or incised designs and also design and create a silver pendant from chunky silver wire. Learn to use hand tools, hammers, blowtorches, solder, steel stamps, etc to create your own unique silver jewellery. Make the perfect Christmas presents for that special someone or keep them all for yourself!

This workshop is suitable for beginners but would be of interest to participants with previous jewellery skills experience. A maximum of 8 participants per workshop ensures focused, individual tuition. All tools, instruction and silver supplied. Adults 17 yrs+

Fergus Grant-Stevenson is a jeweller and silversmith based in Co. Limerick, making Jewellery for nearly 20 years now. Fergus’ background is in archaeology and influences his use of historical techniques and traditional tools. Fergus has taught Jewellery Skills workshops for 5 years from his own studio and in venues across the country (Hunt Museum, Black Gallery in Cloughjordan, Seamus Ennis Arts Centre in Naul, Loughrea School of Art, Electric Picnic, etc).

Fergus runs workshops covering different areas of Jewellery Skills - Beginners, Make a Ring, Foldforming, Working with Gold, Stonesetting, Forging, Chainmaking.
